Meyer, Arvin A. Age 85 of Eden Prairie, passed away peacefully on April 17th surrounded by family at his bedside. Arv was born on February 20, 1939, in Martin County, Minnesota, to Edward and Hilda (Eversman) Meyer. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Arv graduated from Glenwood High School in 1957. Following high school, he moved to Chicago and worked at United Airlines. Soon after a transfer to Minneapolis, he was drafted into the Army where he served two years. Upon discharge, he returned to United Airlines in Minneapolis. On September 16, 1967, Arv married Kathleen Tesch, in Madison, MN. Arv attended college at St. Cloud State University where he received his bachelor's degree and MBA. Arv worked for several companies in the Twin Cities during his career in the accounting/finance field. Arv and Kathy were blessed with two daughters, Christine and Jennie. During Arv's life he was actively involved church activities. He also served for nine years as the Treasurer of Valley View Cooperative in Eden Prairie. He enjoyed coaching his daughters' youth sports. Favorite pastimes were driving his 1967 Camaro convertible and attending classic car shows. Arv is survived by his wife Kathy of 56 years, his daughters Christy (Jason) Ostbye, Jennie Meyer, and grandchildren Owen and Carson Ostbye and Caleb Meyer, sister Pearl Kraft, brother Norman (Judy) Meyer, brothers-in-law Wally (Sue) Tesch and Warren (Kay) Tesch, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Hilda Meyer, Kathy's parents Emil and Tilla Tesch, brother-in-law Burdette Kraft, and sisters-in-law Janice (Orgene) Shelstad, Toki Tesch and Phyllis (Preston) Enevoldsen. The family wishes to thank the staff at Methodist Hospital, Park Nicollet Clinics and Interim HealthCare, and the wonderful neighbors at Valley View Cooperative. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 27th, at 2 PM at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, with visitation one hour prior.
