Tellegen, Dr. Auke passed away on March 8, peacefully in his sleep, at home in Arden Hills, Minnesota at the age of 93. Auke is survived by his son and daughter, Peter Tellegen (Margaret) and Gwen Tellegen (Chris), his granddaughters Laura Bankston Kelleher (Brian), Amy Tellegen Geise (Will), Helen Tellegen (Steven), and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lysbeth Tellegen, and his grandsons Nic Tellegen Burcham and Tom Bankston. He was a member of the committee that developed the MMPI-2 personality test and lead subsequent work to modernize the inventory, beginning with the development of the Restructured Clinical (RC) Scales and co-development of the MMPI-2-RF and MMPI-3. Auke mentored dozens of graduate students, formally or informally, and willingly shared his keen insights with colleagues and mentees who eagerly sought his input and wise counsel. Auke was compassionate, generous, witty, and humble, a real lover of people who actively listened to diverse viewpoints with interest. He was devoted to and inspired by music, especially the work of Johann Sebastian Bach.
