Kinsella, Rita Verena Passed away peacefully, in her sleep, December 2, 2023 at the age of 94. Rita was simply, one in a million. Mother of nine, grandma-Sella to 24 and great grandma to 16, she was nonetheless devoted to God first. Her faith guided her to one abundant, full life. One that included volunteering in every way possible at her church home, St. Thomas the Apostle in Minneapolis; helping others in need throughout the community; and being a shining example of love, humor and energy. She loved so many things with passion. Walks around Lake Harriet, a simple seat on "the bench" with one of her children, teaching us to swim, eat an ice cream cone, or how to make the best cookies. All things were better with Mom/Grandma, because every minute spent together, she made YOU feel like the most important person in the world. Preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Mathilda Ley; husband Richard (Dick); siblings Roland Ley, Lois Lundemo. Survived by sister Cleo Holmin, sister-in-law Sandy Ley; nine children, John (Tammy), Dan (Karen), Mary Maeser (Mike), Bob (Lisa), Margaret Rose (Bob), Mark (Stephanie), Paul (Cheryl), Joe (Julie) and Jennifer Kinsella; 24 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and so many friends. Wake to be held at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave S. Bloomington. MN, 5-8 pm on Thursday, December 14th and one hour prior to Mass. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bonaventure, 901 East 90th Street, Bloomington, MN, Friday, December 15th, 11:00 am. Lunch to follow. Private burial at Fort Snelling. The family would like to thank the Martin Luther Campus staff for making the last decade, and especially the last few days, ones of love and kindness for Rita. Your support was above and beyond - we are extremely grateful. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Fraser School of Richfield or Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota. Do Good For God!
