Forseth, Douglas J. age 72 of Merrifield, MN passed away Nov. 20, 2023. Doug was born in Shell Lake, WI on June 10, 1951. He graduated from Spooner High School in 1969 and then joined the U.S. Navy. He served in Vietnam, receiving National Defense, Vietnam Service and Vietnam Campaign Ribbons. He worked as a machinist for over 35 years with most of that time spent at Graco, Inc. and Parker-Hannifin. Doug was an exceptional husband, dad and grandpa. He was a proud Navy Vet and a loyal fan of the Packers and Twins. He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, putzing in the garage and traveling to Texas in the Winter. But mostly, he loved spending time with his wife, family and friends. He was kind, funny, easy to talk to and loved a good joke. He was the epitome of happy-go-lucky and will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Ardys; brother, Arlo; sisters, Beverly and Doris. Survived by wife, Ruth; children, Dave (Theresa) Myos and Dayna Myos; grandchildren, Isaac, Ethan, Paige and Henry Myos; brothers, Allen, Dale (Pat), George (Lucy) Forseth; many nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Carmen Wilson, Lucy Rosario, Joe (Marissa) Rosario, Catherine (Marques) Graybeal and their families. Funeral Service 11am Sat. Dec. 9th at Nelson-Doran, 202 Eighth Ave NE, Brainerd, MN, luncheon following service. Private burial at Camp Ripley Cemetery at a later date.
