Hanneman, Sarah Kirsten Hutchins Our beloved Wife, Sister, and Friend, Sarah Hutchins Hanneman passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26th. Sarah was born on June 2, 1964, to Bruce Edmund and Mary Ann Hutchins in Robbinsdale, MN. Sarah grew up in Bloomington, MN with her older brother Bruce Jr. An aspiring Lite-Brite artist at 4, she managed to gain entrance to Cedarcrest Elementary public school, conveniently built for her one block away from the house. Beyond math and cursive, which she proudly displayed on anyone's walls, she became a noted Easy-Bake oven chef and Colorforms content creator during these formative years. She then attended Portland Junior High, and Kennedy High School. Her brother was three years ahead of her, thus making sure he cleared out of those schools before she got there. She started those schools as Bruce's sister. By the time she left, they forgot he ever attended. She grew up with a loving family and enjoyed many happy events with the extended families. Sarah graduated from the College of St. Thomas and began her impressive career at the Honolulu YMCA before moving to Idaho to work at the Boise YMCA. She earned her Master of Instructional and Performance Technology at Boise State University while working for the Idaho State Board of Education. Sarah was a human resource professional and worked at Idaho State University, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare in Boise and Idaho Falls, the City of Carlsbad and San Diego County, in California. She was very accomplished and excelled as an HR Professional because of her easy manner with people, providing information and following the law with the greatest of empathy. Sarah met the love of her life, David Hanneman, while working with ISU. He was the firefighter of her dreams and they quickly knew their love was special. They married on a lovely August day in 2006 at the Ste. Chapelle winery surrounded by family and friends. Sarah and Dave's favorite song was "At Last" by Etta James and they would dance to it whenever possible. They shared all aspects of their lives with each other, each supporting the other in their aspirations and careers. They traveled extensively in their much-loved camper, all over the world on cruise ships, and anywhere to enjoy family and friends. They shared the "love" of their cat, Nori, who often travelled with them. Sarah was an accomplished collector of amazing and interesting friends. She has many life-long friends that she held dear to her heart and she was equally special to each and every one who loved her, and all of her friends loved her. She was warm and her smile could light up any occasion. She was a delightful partner or opponent when playing trivia, board games, and card games. Her wit was legendary and much appreciated by all who knew her. The celebration of life will be held at Ste. Chapelle winery in July and in Minnesota in September.
