Goblirsch, Marie Kathryne (Kiefer) age 94, of Edina, died peacefully on May 29, 2023. Marie was born and raised in Lewiston, MN. She graduated from the University of Minnesota, where she met her husband of almost 70 years, David. She worked as a medical technologist, was an election judge, and later in life, worked for the Minneapolis Park Board. Always willing to lend a hand, especially to those in need, she was involved in countless volunteer activities. She was a lifelong learner; taking college and community classes well into her 80s. She loved books, gardening, flowers, travel, colorful hats, Italian roast coffee, and Regina's chocolates. Any and all occasions were celebrated with a festive gathering of family and friends, and lots of decorations. She will be remembered for her love as a wife, mother, and oma; and for her kindness, faith, resilience, style, and her (often embellished) stories. Preceded in death by daughter Mary Goblirsch. Survived by husband David Goblirsch; children, Michael Goblirsch (Jennifer), Ann Moberg (Randy), and Nancy Goblisch; grandchildren Beth Davis and Helen Goblirsch; great grandchildren Sloane and Eli; and brother, Peter Kiefer (Susan). A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday September 23rd at St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 3rd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN; visitation at 12pm and service at 1pm. If you wish, please bring a single flower to share in a flower exchange. Memorials preferred to Friends of the Hennepin County Library.
