Rennie, Sister Carol, OSB age 86, of St. Paul's Monastery died on May 26, 2023, at the Monastery, having lived and ministered as a Benedictine Sister for 66 years. Sister Carol (Damian) professed her first vows in 1956 at St. Benedict's Monastery, St. Joseph, MN. She later transferred to St. Paul's Monastery. Sister Carol ministered at the National Teachers Education Project as an educator of religion. She served as the Associate Dean of Students in the School of Divinity at the University of St. Thomas. She also taught at St. John's School of Theology. She served as a spiritual director at the Benedictine Center of St. Paul's Monastery. Sister Carol served as Prioress of St. Paul's Monastery from 2004-2009. She is survived by her brother David, nieces and nephews, her Benedictine Sisters, Oblates and Associates of St. Paul's Monastery. Visitation from 4-6:30 p.m., Friday, June 2 at the Monastery, 2675 Benet Road, Maplewood, MN. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul's Monastery will be livestreamed Saturday, June 3, 10:30 a.m. Visitation one hour before service. Interment at Monastery Cemetery.
