Gasik, Dr. Joseph M. age 81 of NE Minneapolis, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Preceded in death by father, Joseph I. Gasik; mother, Veronica M. Olson (Gasik); stepfather, O. Fred Olson; sister, Gloria Jean O'Donnell. Survived by wife, Patricia A. Gasik; children, Joseph (Colleen) M. Gasik, Jon (Jennifer) P. Gasik; sister, Kay Olson-Fischer (Randy); brother, Mark Olson; nephew, Drew Fischer; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Dr. Joseph Gasik was a primary care physician for almost 50 years. He graduated from St. Thomas College in St. Paul and received his medical degree from Marquette University School of Medicine in Milwaukee. He completed an internship at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis where he first met his beautiful bride, Patricia, who he was married to for over 54 wonderful years.

He loved all of his patients and staff at his NE medical clinic on 2nd street NE. He later sold the clinic and became part of the North Memorial clinic and hospital system until he retired at age 74.

Dr. Gasik was a man of faith and an active member of the St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he served as a church/school board member for several years. He also served as an Eucharistic Minister at St. Charles for many years. Dr. Gasik volunteered at St. Charles and Totino-Grace High School as the team's football doctor. He enjoyed watching his two sons play football from the team sidelines.

Visitation Wednesday 5/10, 5-7 PM, with prayer service at 7 PM at Billman-Hunt Funeral Home, 2701 Central Ave. NE, Mpls, 55418. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM in the church Atrium at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2739 NE Stinson Parkway, Mpls 55418.
