Lindgren, Douglas Wayne age 68, died March 2, 2023 at Sioux Falls Avera McKennan Hospital. Doug was born December 29, 1954 in Minneapolis, raised by his parents Donald and Mardine Lindgren in Crystal, MN. Attended Robbinsdale Cooper High School. Went on to work in the Osseo Paint Factory, did waterproofing with the roofer's union. Doug retired, after 26 years, from the Minneapolis GE shop, where he traveled the world as a power plant turbine machinist. Doug's passion for hunting led him to: SD for prairie dogs, Madison, MN for fox and coyote, Colorado and Wyoming for elk, northern Quebec for caribou, Texas for wild hogs, Arkansas and SD for snow goose. Doug, and his wife Ruth, built a home in the Big Stone Lake area, where his favorite pastimes included: hunting ducks, pheasant and snow goose, archery whitetail, fishing, spending time with family, and playing poker with family and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Ron Fisher, sister-in-law Barbara Brandborg, grandnephew Daniel Frey. Doug will be greatly missed by his wife Ruth, children: Jess (Bob Barthel) Lindgren of Syracuse, NY, Nicole (Judson) Fonger family of Syracuse, NY, Christopher Lanie of Alexandria, MN, Darin (Abigail Dale) Lindgren of Sioux Falls, SD, three grandchildren: Everett, Marshall, and Hazel Fonger, siblings: Elaine (Gary) Isakson of Brooklyn Park, MN, David (Sharon Heide) Lindgren of Fridley, MN, Jan Fisher of Leander, TX, and Diane (Wade) Palmer of Elk River, MN; also many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family.
