Gniffke, Martha Colling age 82, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. She was born September 1, 1940, to parents James and Caroline (Sachs) Cash, growing up in Franklinville, New York. After high school, Martha received her higher education at Goucher College, Stanford University, and the University of Minnesota. She was a dedicated teacher for many years, a voracious reader who looked forward to her monthly book club gatherings, a sailing enthusiast, and an avid world traveler. Her gift of connecting with people will be lovingly remembered and missed. Martha is survived by Bruce, her devoted husband of 57 years, daughters Gretchen and Colleen (Chad) Hardie, grandsons Cash and Cai, brother Jim (Olga) Cash, sister Mary (Gordon) Gillies, sisters-in-law Audrey Anderson and Linda Cash, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Tom. The memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, January 12th, 2023 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 County Rd. 19, Excelsior, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
