Austin, John Christian, Jr. April 29, 1948 - August 7, 2022 74, of North Oaks, Minnesota and Palm Springs, California died of pancreatic cancer at his home on Sunday, August 7, 2022. John's artistic ability as a designer was well known and many of his clients became lifelong friends. John loved entertaining, traveling, music, gardening, his beloved dogs Cole, Simon and Porter and time spent with family and friends. Summers were treasured at Whitefish Lake where his family owned a cabin for over 60 years. John was a unique and special brother. He will be missed. He is survived by his 14 sisters and brothers Ann Austin McCormick (Mac), Jane Austin McGrath (Terry), Barbara Bryce (Dave), Beck Austin, Chris Austin (Wendy), Kathryn Austin Stigge (John), Margaret Austin-Stephenson (Rick), Louise Austin, Martha Carlson (Gary), Mark Austin (Sue), Peter Austin (Chris Foss), Louie Austin, Sarah Austin and Jeff Austin (Robin), many nieces and nephews, his beloved friend of many years, Roma Witzig and by his former partner of 23 years, Jim Sullivan. A Memorial Gathering will be held at the North Oaks Country Club on Friday, September 9th from 5-8pm.
