Schaefer, Byron Lee After a 5 year journey, at age 73, Byron spent his last day with ALS on July 17, 2022. Byron's faith in Jesus, his Lord and Savior, kept him focused on his eternal home to get him through the temporary physical difficulties. Byron was a tool/die maker with a degree from Dunwoody. He had a 27-year career at Northwest Airlines first as a tool/die maker and then in airplane maintenance/mechanics, which he loved. He enjoyed traveling to many Presidential Libraries. In retirement he challenged himself in a diverse group of activities, such as growing orchids and being an avid cyclist, kite flyer, bird watcher and photographer, until ALS took away these pleasures. We thank the staff at Plateau Healthcare in Brooklyn Park for their care, compassion, and services in Byron's last months. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Agnes Schaefer and survived by his brothers James (Terri) and Greg (Colleen), nieces, nephews, his Godmother Stella Oelfke and many cousins and friends. Byron, rest in peace and say hi to mom and dad for us. God loves you and so do we. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, August 9th @ 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to all at: washburn-mcreavy.com Eden Prairie Chapel 952-975-0400 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344
