JoAnn Stevens

Stevens, JoAnn 88, passed away June 21, 2022, in her home in Independence. JoAnn Alice Weldele was born July 13, 1933, in Buffalo, MN, to Joseph and Edna (Abel) Weldele. After graduating as valedictorian of the Buffalo High School class of 1951, JoAnn worked in the accounting department of Minneapolis-Moline in Hopkins. JoAnn and Thomas Stevens married in 1957 and resided in Medina. In 1975 they moved to a farm in Independence, where they raised their family. JoAnn is survived by her children Paul, Joe (Sue), Kelly, and Clare; brother Richard (Joan); and grandchildren Thomas, Alexander, Erika, and Julia. JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband Thomas; siblings Jerome, Audrey, and Joyce; and infant son Daniel. Funeral mass at 11:00 am on July 30th at St. George Catholic Church in Long Lake with visitation prior to mass at 9:30.
