Monteiro, Frank Michael Age 78, of Stillwater Township, died peacefully at home on May 30, 2022 in the loving arms of his family after a lengthy battle with multiple medical problems including Lewy Body Dementia. Frank was born on September 9, 1943 in Pune, India. He graduated with a BE in Civil Engineering in Mangalore, Karnataka. Frank immigrated to Minnesota in 1970 and received his Masters of Engineering at the University of Minnesota. In 1971, he met his "love girl" Pamela Thom. They married on February 2, 1972 and spent fifty wonderful years together. Always a hard worker, Frank founded Universal Engineering Services in 1991, a highly successful firm that is still thriving in the family today. He was honored to have received the Minnesota Minority Small Business Person of the Year award in 1996. Even more than his business, Frank's greatest joy in his life came from his family. Frank traveled with Pam and his children not only across the country, but around the world, introducing them to his Indian culture. He took great pride in supporting his children's academic accomplishments. Frank was the beloved "Apa" to his seven grandchildren, who brought him some of the happiest moments of his life. He always referred to them as "my kids." Despite the many serious health problems in the final years of his life, Frank lived with dignity and grace at home with the help of his loving wife and care partner, Pam. Frank's mother Gloria instilled in him a strong Catholic faith, which he carried throughout his life and into the next. He is survived by his loving wife Pam; children, Michelle, Matt (Kavita), Jeremy (Swati), Amy (Matt); brothers, Ronnie and Stanley; sister, Joyce; grandchildren Lucas, Nathan, Miranda, Noah, Ella, Maya, Naveen, and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his loving parents, Adrian and Gloria and parents-in-law, Arthur and Shirley Thom. Special thanks to Frank's many caregivers including Rich Rodrigue, Jacquie, Nancy, and the Midwest Hospice staff including Amy, Amanda, Joel and Nathan. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Church of St. Michael, 611 S Third Street, Stillwater, MN 55082, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass.
