Namba Hamann, Yasie Age 92, passed away on April 23, 2022. Yasie was born January 09, 1930 in Tochigi-Ken, Japan to parents Sei Hoshino and Tadeshi Namba. The oldest of seven children, Yasie married Fred Hamann on October 27, 1954 in Japan. They later moved to the United States and lived in many states before settling in Minnesota. Yasie and Fred had five children; Helen, Mary, William, Michael, and Richard. Yasie is preceded in death by both of her parents, daughter Mary, brothers Takashi Namba, Yoshio Namba, Atsuhiro Namba, Atsuyoshi Namba, and daughter-in-law Kristine. It is impossible to sum up the tremendous impact Yasie had on her family and friends. She was the true family matriarch, much like the sun with all family members revolving around her. She was the moral compass which guided all of our decisions and she taught us so many life lessons. A seamstress by training, Yasie could sew anything from a tiny bear in a sports uniform to the most elegant dress. Her talents, however, went well beyond the needle and thread. Yasie was also an amazing chef, carpenter, inventor, psychologist, sports prognosticator, interpreter, advisor, animal whisperer, and most of all a philanthropist. She would do anything she could to better the lives of the people she cared about. Yasie was always given the utmost love, loyalty, and respect by those who knew her. Her profound impact on us will not only be felt by her loss, but also by the fact that she will forever be part of us. Yasie is survived by her husband Fred, children Helen Kocon (Rick), William Hamann, Michael Hamann, Richard Hamann (Karen), brothers Ekuo Namba, Katsuo Namba; grandchildren Johnny, Tony, Andy, Elaina, Felicia, Sophia, Samantha, Jessica, Tamara, Nathan, Aaron, Rosie, Daniel, Ann Marie, Micah; and many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service honoring the life of Yasie will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 am with Visitation 1 hour prior to service from 10:00-11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Chapel, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd NE., Minneapolis, MN.
