Gilmore, Curtis C. Age 94, of Mpls., passed away peacefully on February 15, 2022, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Grace Gilmore, loving wife of 65 years Dot Gilmore, and infant daughter Susan. After graduating from Mankato High School, he attended Carleton College and graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1951. Curtis practiced law from 1951 to 1968 in a two person Minneapolis law firm, McLeod & Gilmore, specializing in workers' compensation litigation. In 1968, he merged his law practice with another Minneapolis law firm that later became Gilmore, Aafedt, Forde, Anderson & Gray, P.A. where he continued his successful workers' compensation litigation practice until he retired in 1992. Curt and Dot raised their family in Edina before moving to downtown Minneapolis in 1981. Outside of his law practice, Curt was an avid traveler and enjoyed spending time at his lake house on Lake Ossawinnamakee and his place on Sanibel Island. Curt enjoyed his time with family and was a loving spouse, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by son, David Gilmore (Andrea); daughter, Joan Southworth (David); son, Steven Gilmore (Barbara); grandchildren, Julie (Tyler), Steven (Janel), Kate (Jimmy), Alice (Zack), Brian, Grace; and great-grandchildren; Emmalyn, Gavin, Theodore & Wyatt. Thank you to Andrew Knutson, M.D. for his excellent care over the past 3 months. Thank you to Stacy and her staff at Stacy Jensen Home Health Care for their professional and compassionate care, together with Allina Hospice. A very special thank you to JoAnna Nedberg who has provided loving care and assistance to Dot and Curt over the past 10+ years. Memorials preferred to the Grace Cadwell Gilmore scholarship at Carleton College, Gift Accounting, One North College Street, Northfield, MN 55057. A memorial service will be held at 10AM with visitation one hour prior, on May 21, 2022 at Lakewood Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. S., Mpls. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
