Brian Smith

Smith, Brian St. Paul, died of lung cancer at his sister's home on December 27, 2021. Survived by daughter Alyssa; her mother Theresa Walker and family; sisters Karin and Wendy (Dave Drentlaw); nieces Svea and Johanna. Preceded in death by parents Leroy and Svea and brother Burton. Brian grew up in Columbia Heights, studied art at the University of Minnesota, and patiently and knowledgeably answered thousands of how-to questions while working at Smith Lumber, Seven Corners, and other hardware stores. He saw beauty and usefulness in everything and was a life long learner with many skills. Brian loved the great outdoors, music, and cookies with a good cup of coffee. Memorial gathering 1-3PM Tuesday, March 1 at St. Stanislaus 398 Superior St., St. Paul.
