Wishard, Gary Dean (77) passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022 surrounded by family after a 14 year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Micheline, son Jean-Claude, parents Orville and Gloria Wishard, and sister Sandra Strohfus. Gary is survived by his daughters Veronique (Joe) and Danielle (Jonathan), daughter-in-law Liza, 10 grandchildren (Collin, Austin, Grayson, Anna, Madeline, Brianna, Audra, Lily, Jean-Luc and Violet), sister Bonnie, brother Doug (Barb) and brother-in- law LaVerne Strohfus. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors. Gary was born in Covina, CA and grew up in Watertown, SD. He was stationed in France, serving in the US Army as a Military Police Officer, where he met his wife Micheline. They settled in Minnetonka, MN where they raised their three children. When he wasn't attending a youth sporting event or dance recital for his grandchildren, Gary loved to hunt, fish, repair cars and do home improvement projects. He also spent a lot of free time at the family farm in Henry, SD; not just hunting but planting and tending thousands of trees. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis over the years, as well as North Memorial Hospice Services. A burial at Fort Snelling is scheduled for Monday March 21st at 10 AM and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in South Dakota. Washburn-McReavy.com Strobeck Johnson 952-938-9020
