Gustafson, Betty A. Age 79, of Maple Grove, MN passed away peacefully January 8, 2022 following complications of Parkinson's disease, battled valiantly for almost 20 years. Her legacy of wit, puns, quips and laughs will always keep us smiling! She spent many winters in Hawaii with her "man" of 57 years, Jack, enjoying warm Aloha breezes and encouraging all of her friends to visit. Betty is survived by husband, Jack, and four daughters, Lisa (Paul), Kristin, Juli, and Kori, eight grandchildren, Alexandria, Joshua, Ethan, Erin, Anders, Miles, Anja, and Lucy, and 2 great grandchildren, Zoe and Dakota, one sister, Una Miller (Fred), sisters-in-law, Bette Gustafson and MaryAnn Solberg. Betty was always redefining herself through life's different stages. Daughter of Alice and Carl Whetston, she graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1960 and worked for Prudential. After marrying in 1964, she was a devoted Navy wife and mother and traveled the world during Jack's deployments. Returning to Minnesota she was a pro shop manager for Sports & Health Club, a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines and worked in hotel hospitality for the Northland Inn. She was an active member of her church, singing in choir, organizing special music and events, and leading in many capacities. The family would like to thank Maple Grove Hospital, St. Therese-St. Odilia, North Memorial Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, please honor Betty with a tribute gift to the Parkinson's Foundation (parkinson.org). A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 11 a.m. (visitation 90 minutes prior) First Lutheran Church of Crystal, 7708 62nd Ave. No. Brooklyn Park.
