Heinonen, Dr. Claire Jeanne (Carlyon) of Chanhassen, formerly of Linden Hills, passed away on November 24th, 2021 after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. Claire was preceded in death by her parents Tom & Marian Carlyon and sister Leta Sue. She is survived by her soulmate and husband Jerry, children Michael (Ammie), Daniel, Drew (Lisa) and Tori (Schuyler), four siblings including Ross (Teresa), Dennis, Sandy, and Scott (Anne), six spectacular grandchildren, dearly loved nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of devoted friends around the country. Throughout her life, Claire made the most of each day, was always on the go, embracing new experiences and challenges. Claire treasured time spent outdoors, especially trips to the BWCA area. One of her favorite adventures were the "Gramma-Ramma" trips with her grandchildren. Claire was also a talented quilter, creating unique personalized and cherished quilts for the lucky recipients. Dr. Claire was an optometrist at North Suburban Eye in Anoka since 1996. Claire was devoted to the care and well-being of her patients. Claire's gentle spirit, positivity, generous, and caring nature were ever present in her professional and personal life. Claire was a woman of deep faith, devoted to continuing to grow and live as a Christian throughout her life. Although our hearts are broken and we miss our wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, best friend, doctor; we thank Claire for being an inspiration to live life fully and with passion each day. A Celebration/Graduation service is planned for January 22nd, @ 2:00 PM at the Minnesota Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, MN 55318. Per Claire's wishes, You are invited to attend if you have been fully vaccinated. Masks will also be required. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Wilderness Canoe Base.
