Norman 'Wayne' Northcott

Northcott, Norman "Wayne" 87, a resident of New Hope, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021. Wayne was born on October 22, 1933, the son and youngest child of Lawrence and Nellie Fowler Northcott in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Wayne grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma and was fond of telling stories of being a Depression era child, being outdoors, fishing, all the jobs he had as a child, and more. He loved fishing and spent many happy years at his and Francies' cabin on Lake Pickerel near Detroit Lakes. There was nothing he liked better than to prepare a fish fry for family and friends. Wayne was a self-made man. His goal of providing for his family was stronger than any desire he had for himself. He made his career with Fry Roofing/Owens Corning for 35 years. His "girls" daughters will greatly miss his love, wit and southern charm. They are happy he is now reunited with their mom. Wayne was a member of Salem Covenant Church in New Brighton. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, best friend, and love of his life Francies in 2001, marking twenty years to the month. He is survived by daughters, Mary (Scott) Jacobson and Millie Northcott; five grandchildren, Emily (Tim) O'Brien, Darrin (Sarah Harrison) Jacobson, David (Hannah) Jacobson, Evan (Gabrielle) Lecy, and Elizabeth Jacobson; and six great grandchildren, Keagan O'Brien, Alex Jacobson, Corban Jacobson, Cassidy Jacobson, Camryn Jacobson, and Callen Jacobson.
