Cocchiarella, Eleonora 97, of White Bear Lake, passed away on Sunday May 16 2021. Eleonora (Nee Marrone) was born in Fragneto L'Abate, Benevento, Italy on August 19, 1923. She married Luigi Cocchiarella on May 15, 1947, and emigrated with him to Winnipeg, Canada in 1952, and then to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1955. Our mother lived an extraordinary life marked with the heartache of extreme poverty in childhood, the loss of friends and family members in WWII, the great journey emigrating with two young children to a new country, and working tirelessly to build a better life for her sons in America. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Holidays were almost always celebrated at her house, enjoying the marvelous cooking and hospitality for which she was noted. Her cooking and baking were second to none. She will be forever treasured and missed by her surviving sons Alfonse (Rochelle) and Mario (Mary), granddaughters Jennifer (Josh) Rosefelt and Amy (Sam Topping) Cocchiarella, step-grandsons John (Stephanie) Burgess and Jacob (Alaina) Burgess, and great-grandchildren Andrew, Cameron, Mason, Max, Evrith and Heston. Also survived by countless nieces and nephews around the world. She was preceded in death by her husband Luigi, her son Frederick (Carlo), parents Filomeno and Michela Marrone, brothers Antonio (New York), Cosimo (Virginia), Vittorio (Montreal), Augustino (Sydney), Giuseppe and Alfonso (Italia), and brothers-in-law Antonio (Italia), and Fausto (Caracas). Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 11 AM at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3878 Highland Ave., WBL. Visitation, Thursday, 9-10:30 AM at HONSA FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2460 East County Road E, WBL. Interment following Mass at Calvary Cemetery, St. Paul, MN.
