Larson, David V. On Thursday, May 13, 2021, David V. Larson, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 85. David was born on October 26, 1935 in Albert Lea, MN to Vernon and Evelyn (Anderson) Larson. He received his master's degree in education from Wesleyan University of Middletown, Connecticut in June of 1960, and before that a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA, where he had been awarded full scholarship from the Alfred P. Sloan National Scholarship Foundation. In August of 1958 he married Angele Boisvert of Newport, Vermont. In 1959 he served as a 2nd Lieutenant with the US Army in the Chemical Corps of Engineers at Ft. McClellan, Alabama. During his lifetime he taught mathematics first at the St. Louis Country Day School in the St. Louis, MO suburb of Ladue, and then taught math and chemistry at Staples High School in Westport, CT. He then returned to his home state of Minnesota and taught math at Edina's South View/Valley View Junior High Schools, followed by many years of teaching math at Edina High School for a total of 36 years of teaching. David loved to spend summers at his cabin on Mule Lake in Longville, MN, golfing, fishing, and pontoon-ing. He also sang with the church choir, played in his bridge group, and enjoyed traveling with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Angele of St. Louis Park, MN; his four children: Debi Gordon (Steve), Sandy Larson (Jerry Jensen), Karen Barry (David), Chris Larson (Linda); five grandchildren: Andra, Sean, Brianna, Karsten, Chad; and 4 great-grandchildren: Audrey, Aurelia, Clark, Larson; and his brother Phil. He will live on in our hearts. Funeral service is 11AM, Thursday, May 20 at Church of St. Therese, 18323 Minnetonka Boulevard, Deephaven. Visitation one hour prior at the church.
