Dempsey, Mary Elizabeth passed away peacefully in her home town of St. Paul, MN on February 22, 2021 at the age of 92. Mary was a graduate of the Convent of the Visitation School and College of St. Catherine, and received her PhD from the University of Minne-sota, Twin Cities where she was a professor of Biochemistry for 41 years. She will be greatly missed for her welcoming and warm spirit, her deep interest in others and her rascally sense of humor. She is survived by her sister Katherine Dempsey Sullivan of Lake Oswego, OR, her cousin Mary Lou Gruber of St. Paul, MN, and her seven nieces and nephews and their families. Her friendship will be remembered by her beloved communities in St. Paul, Sanibel Island, Tofte, Grand Marais and around the world. Visitation 4-7pm Tuesday, March 16 at O'HALLORAN & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul.
