Dave C. Stearns

Stearns, Dave C. Age 72, of Carver, MN passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Dave was born on October 15, 1948 in St. Cloud, MN to Marvin and Viviane (Marvin) Stearns. He graduated from St. Cloud Tech high school then continued his education at the University of Minnesota earning the Williams Scholarship the 4 years he played tennis there. His passion for tennis continued as a tennis pro for the next 20 years. He began his second career as a teacher in the Minnetonka School District after getting his masters degree in special education. Dave was most recognized as the Girls and Boys Varsity tennis coach over the last 30 years at Minnetonka. In 2019, he was inducted into the St. Cloud Tech Athletic Hall of Fame as a three sport athlete. Two of his favorite hobbies were fishing with family and playing the piano. Although he will be missed dearly, we will remember his infectious energy, legendary presence, intelligence, humor and kindness. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Vivian Stearns and his nephews Scott and Joe Stearns. He is survived by his children, Brent Stearns, Keri (Jason) Ouska: grandchildren, Adam, Anna and Ashley Ouska; brother Robert Stearns and nephew Brady Stearns.
