Wissner, Basil Lee Died September 17, 2020. Born February 13, 1938, to Grace Marie (Phoebus) and Irving Henry Wissner, Baltimore, MD. Attended Brooklyn Park High School in Baltimore. Entered USMC in 1955. Honorably discharged at rank of Lance Corporal in 1958. On February 24, 1962, he married the love of his life, Mary Jane (Kinninger), in a ceremony held at Saint Pius X Church in Baltimore. At that time, he was employed by Union Trust Commercial Bank where he was promoted into the data processing department. Later hired by Bendix Friez to head the data processing department and then by Honeywell Computer Systems as a Branch System Manager. Basil's career at Control Data in MN began in January, 1968, and spanned 21 years, including a 2 year assignment in the Republic of South Africa. Basil continued to work in the computer field until 2000 when he joined Triad Transportation Company, where he served as General Manager and later as President, until he retired in 2012. Basil was an active volunteer at Pax Christi, PROP, and the SWT shopping bus. He and Mary Jane loved Eden Prairie and enjoyed supporting their community - from painting all the park benches around Starring and Round Lakes, to serving as election judges, and attending every EPC Council meeting. They co-chaired fund-raising activities for the Dr. Jean Harris Memorial Bridge, served on the HTC Foundation Board, contributed to the Eden Prairie Community Foundation and funded numerous student scholarships. In 2004, Basil received the EP Rotary Club Service Above-Self Volunteer Award. In 2007, he received the City of EP Human Rights Award. Preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Jane.
