Joyce Ida (Mondeng) Swanson

Swanson (Mondeng), Joyce Ida 89, passed away peacefully on August 30th, 2020 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on June 6th, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Robert and Mina (Tritt) Mondeng. She was preceded in death by her sister June Mondeng. Survived by her beloved husband, Arden Swanson, and their children Sandra (Richard) Henkaline, David (Sandra) Swanson and Kathleen (Cary) Serif, as well as 2 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and 2 great grandsons. Joyce was a graduate of Edison High School, class of 1949. She worked at Honeywell in Minneapolis before getting married to Arden Swanson. She and Arden were married in 1953 and moved around northern Minnesota and Upper Michigan until they settled in North Olmsted, Ohio in 1965. She spent over 50 years there raising her family, volunteering and enjoying time spent with friends. Joyce enjoyed traveling the world with Arden. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren, who will dearly miss her chocolate chip cookies & cinnamon rolls. She will be greatly missed.
