Karen VonEschen

VonEschen, Karen 81, died at home in Chanhassan on July 26 of cancer. She leaves her husband of 60 years, Ferris VonEschen; her children, Tim, of Chicago, and Karla, of Chanhassan; her grandsons, Will and James, of Deephaven; and a brother, Christopher Porterfield, of New York City. A longtime resident of Deephaven, she worked as an administrator in the Hopkins School District. She and Ferris retired to Longville, MN, for two decades before moving to Chanhassan last year. A generous, caring soul with an unfailing sense of humor, she cherished family life and loved animals. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Donations to Can Do Canines, of New Hope, or the American Cancer Society.
