John E. 'Jack' Engel

Engel, John "Jack" E. age 86 of Bloomington, MN, passed away March 19, 2020. He was born to Elden and Loretta (Knauer) Engel on 12/14/33 in Rushford, MN. An alumnus of St. Thomas University, his participation in the ROTC program led to active service in the U.S. Air Force and the MN Air National Guard. Jack was hired as a pilot by North Central Airlines, eventually flying for Republic and Northwest Airlines. His passions in life included flying; fishing; golf; the MN Twins; but most importantly, spending time with family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Bruchman. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanne; sons Chris (Debbie) Engel and Chuck (Deb Weiss) Engel; grandsons Sean, Jeff, Jack and Brett; great grandchildren, Henry, Abby, Millie and Ella. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richard's Catholic Church with Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
