Gloria 'Jean' Dowell

Dowell, Gloria "Jean" Age 92, died on May 25, 2020 from Covid-19 in Maple Grove, MN. She earned her degree in education, math, chemistry and biology in 1948. Jean served as the first lay person and first female Conference Council Director for the Minnesota United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Debby (Tom) Vetter and Kevin (Deb) Dowell; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth (Boppa) Dowell. Jean will be remembered for her involvement in the Church worldwide, progressive social views, love for Africa and potato soup. Memorial service deferred due to Covid. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Imara International -A rescue home for young mothers located in Kenya, Africa.
