Leba, Rosalie Age 89 a resident of Main Street Lodge/Catholic Eldercare, passed away peacefully, on May 15, 2020 from complications of Parkinson's disease. Rosalie was born in Tacoma, Washington on October 6, 1930 to Richard and Corinne Meany. She was the fourth of five children. Rosalie grew up in a tight-knit family surrounded by love and loyalty in the midst of struggles caused by the Great Depression of the 1930's. She was athletic and competitive, especially playing softball. As an adult, her hobbies included reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. At a young age, Rosalie entered the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Penance and Charity. After her training as a Franciscan Nun she became a high school teacher. In 1974, she decided to change her life's direction. She left the Order, gracefully, in fact remaining an Associate for the rest of her life. Rosalie decided to make her home in Minneapolis in order to connect with her sister Catherine Bichsel, husband Jack, and their family. She met Peter Leba and they were married in 1989 and enjoyed a very happy life together until his passing in 2013. Rosalie is survived by her brother Bill (Helen), stepchildren Paul, Sharon and Dan Leba, and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Predeceased by her parents, Corinne and Richard Meany, brother Father Neill Meany S.J., Sisters Catherine Bichsel and Joan Sullivan, nephew Mark Sullivan and niece, Pat Haniford. A drive-in parking lot funeral service (Covid19) is scheduled for June 13, 2020 at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Drive, Woodbury, MN 55125.
