Daniel John Wiersma

Wiersma, Daniel John was born May 2, 1948 to Daniel and Esther Wiersma of Belle Fourche, South Dakota. He died April 8th, 2020 after a 20 year battle with Parkinson's Disease in Arden Hills, MN. He grew up in Indiana receiving a B.S. and Ph.D. from Purdue University and his M.S. from the University of Illinois. He was a systems engineer for Honeywell and Alliant Tech Systems for 31 years from 1979-2010. Dan was also a member of Excelsior Covenant Church in Excelsior, MN. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carleen of Coon Rapids, MN, two sons, Brian and his wife Krystal of Olive Branch, MS and Luke and wife Sara of Coon Rapids, MN. 5 grandchildren: Emilynn, Madalynn, Tate, Trey and Teagan. He was preceded in death by son Andrew in 2008. He is also survived by his brother Bruce and his wife Jessica. Several nieces and nephews will always remember Uncle Dan's smile and big heart. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. A private interment is planned for April 11, 2020 in Volga, SD and a memorial service will be held at a future date at Excelsior Covenant Church 19955 Excelsior Blvd. Excelsior, MN 55331. Arr.
