Burton, Rev. Norma Jean (Schroder) Age 95. Preceded in death by husband Robert and brother Bill. Survived by sons David (Jan) & Marc (Lori-jean Gille) and family members Carrie, Jeff (Sharon), Angelo (Flavia) and Lakhbir (Bali). Norma grew up in Minneapolis and St. Louis Park and attended the University of Minnesota where she received her Mrs. degree. She returned to Minneapolis, raised her family, and over the years tutored in the public schools, was involved in social justice causes, served terms on the boards of the Christopher Watson Dance Company and the Blaisdell YMCA and was actively involved in church affairs including writing curriculum. At age 50 she attended United Theological Seminary, earned her Master of Divinity degree and was ordained into the ministry. She led churches in St. Paul and Minneapolis and had been Community Minister at Linden Hills UCC for the past 30 years. She eventually moved to a senior apartment complex (back in St. Louis Park - guess she couldn't make up her mind) where she was involved in a variety of activities including the 5 o'clock Wine Group. Throughout her life, Norma enjoyed going for coffee, world travel and visiting "The Mouse". Memorials preferred to a cause that Norma would approve of. We'll gather for a celebration of her life someday down the road. In the meantime, just think of her when you see something Purple.
