Gausman, James Age 63, of Ramsey, MN passed away March 11, 2020. Jim was raised in St. Louis Park and graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1975. He obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1980, a license to operate a nuclear reactor in 1988, and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management in 1998. Jim worked as an engineer in the utility industry in California, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, retiring in 2017. Preceded in death by parents, John and Virginia (Mich) Gausman. Survived by wife of 40 years Elizabeth; Son, Bradley (Amelia Cohoes) Gausman and Grandson, Harvey of Minneapolis; Son, Daniel (Erica Bailey) Gausman of Brooklyn, NY; sisters, Janet (Greg) Reigstad of St. Cloud and Jennifer (Mike) Benson of Albuquerque, NM; nieces, Bridget Reigstad and Marie (Kevin) Ellis; Nephew, Mark Montoya. Jim enjoyed the outdoors with trips to his family cabin on Stewart Lake to hunt and fish. He and Beth loved traveling globally together and taking annual trips with college friends. In retirement, Jim and Beth navigated their 40' cruiser on the intracoastal waterway from Ft. Lauderdale to Duluth. Jim enjoyed his leisurely trips to Running Aces. Lifetime achievements include a 10 lb. walleye, a 10-point buck, and leaving the poker table ahead. Memorial Service Tuesday, March 17 2020, reception 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM with service to follow at 5:30 PM at Dare's Funeral Home 805 Main St. NW Elk River, MN.
