Lueck, Ruth 1932-2020 Ruth Lueck, 87, of Golden Valley, Minnesota passed away peacefully on February 11, 2020 at Covenant Living of Golden Valley, MN. Ruth's family expresses their heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful care and thoughtfulness of the nurses and staff at Covenant Living. Ruth was born on Apr. 21, 1932, the daughter of Clarence and Irene Mayer. Ruth and her sister Luella were raised in May City, Iowa. After high school graduation, she attended West Mar College in Le Mars, Iowa where she met the love of her life, Stanley Lueck. In 1953 Ruth and Stan were married and lived various places until they settled in the Twin Cities where they continued to build their family of seven children. Ruth was a mother and homemaker for the first part of her married life and then started and built a successful cleaning business. One of Ruth's strengths was helping and welcoming people into her home. It didn't matter if they were friends of her children or complete strangers; they were always greeted with a smile, a hug, and something to eat. She loved to read and also garden but most of all she loved being a Grandma to her 16 grandchildren. Ruth was a woman of faith and firm convictions and attended church throughout her whole life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lost her husband Stan in September of 1999. A few years later, Ruth then married Richard Handy of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She enjoyed her time with Dick until he passed away in May 2011. Ruth will be missed by her children: son Marty (Vicki) of Mountain Grove, MO; daughter Kathy (Dennis) of Boy River, Minnesota; son Ricky (JaneAnn) of Maple Grove, MN; son Timothy (Rhonda) of Owatonna, MN; daughter Janine (Steve) of Golden Valley, MN; son Thomas (Shari) of Springfield, MO; son Robert of Jupiter, FL; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Irene; sister Luella, and grandchildren Jeffrey and Jason. In honor of Ruth the funeral service will take place on Monday, February 17 at Fourth Baptist Church 900 Forestview Ln N, Plymouth, MN at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. All are invited to a luncheon following the service as well the internment following the luncheon. Memorials may be directed to the Metro Women's Center in Crystal, MN.
