William Creighton 'Bill' McCubrey

McCubrey, William "Bill" Creighton passed away with his daughter by his side on December 6, 2019. He joins his beloved siblings, Betty Sandell, Everett McCubrey, Jr. and Lael Sanders, and parents who preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Kristina (husband Arni) McCubrey- Jegers and Katherine McCubrey; his 5 grandchildren, Alexander Jegers, Zoe Ducroux, Eva Ducroux, Julia Jegers, Martin Ducroux, ex-wife Ruth McCubrey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was born on January 6, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN to Everett and Palma McCubrey. He grew up in Minneapolis and was a graduate of Washburn High School and Macalester College. He served in the U. S. Navy Reserves for 8 years. In 1958 he began a lifelong career in the plastics industry, and in 1968 he moved to Eden Prairie and founded Creighton Company. He made Eden Prairie his permanent home and was active in his community and his church, Eden Prairie Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church the past 25 years. Bill had a deep appreciation of music and art. He played the cello and enjoyed attending the orchestra, art museums and art fairs. He enjoyed meeting new people, loved to entertain, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He deeply valued family and friendships and was known for his generosity and thoughtfulness. It was very important to him to remember family and friends' birthdays, anniversaries and other milestones, he loved to acknowledge and celebrate them. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4th at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1200 S Marquette Ave., Minneapolis from 10:00-10:30 am. A visitation will immediately follow. Westminster Presbyterian Church has ample free and heated underground parking. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family to be distributed among various charities.
