Hiltz, Elizabeth Florence of Coon Rapids, MN who died on November 11, 2019 at the age of 98 years was born on December 25, 1920 in Wahkon, MN. Preceded in death by husband Harold Hiltz; parents Eugene and Millie Mayo; sister Dorothy Nunes; brothers Bartlett Mayo, Horace Mayo, & Paul Mayo; and son Leslie Cowden. Survived by sisters Mary Ann Mayo of Bothell, WA and Margaret Knutson of Rochester, MN; sons Phillip (Ruth) Cowden of Ogilvie, MN; James (Gloria) Cowden of Bedford, IN; Don Cowden of Andover, MN; & daughter Lois Cowden of Coon Rapids. Elizabeth has 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren. Elizabeth cherished time spent with friends and family and until the last two days of her life used her passion and magical gift of music to play the piano to bring joy to herself and others. Veterans Day was an appropriate day for her passing as her family believes she was met at the gates of heaven by a soldier she had missed for decades, her son Leslie who died in Viet Nam in 1968.
