Quinlivan, Mary Colleen 65, of Edina passed peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 10. Her loving presence will be deeply missed by many: her husband of 40 years, Richard Cochrane; siblings Paul Quinlivan, Joan VanGorden and Lucy Quinlivan; her nieces Jen Lindberg and Megan Quinlivan; nephews Steven Lochen and Dylan VanGorden; six great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Mary was a passionate artist and lover of travel, music, books and animals. Her paintings of luminous landscapes and lush florals were award winning. Her philosophy of art (and life) was "Carpe diem." For Mary, there was no better way to seize the day than to enter the singular trancelike state of deep involvement in creative endeavor. "I am seeking, I am striving, I am in it with all my heart." - Vincent Van Gogh. A celebration of Mary's life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 at the Anglican Church of St. Dunstan, 4241 Brookside Ave., St. Louis Park.
