Kakos, Nicholas T. Age 94 of Mpls passed away September 16, 2019 survived by wife of 49 years, Jan; son, Chris; daughter, Shannon; granddaughter, Jessica (Jeff); great granddaughter, Mia; sister, Zoe. Nick was a graduate of Central High School. He attended the University of Oregon and was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He is a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corps. Nick was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church and a founding member of GOYA. Also a long time member and former commander of American Legion Post 129. Nick was a tireless and dedicated volunteer for numerous veteran, community and church organizations. He was a loving husband, father and papou. Visitation 4-7 pm with 5 pm Trisagion Service Thursday, September 19th at Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th St. & Vernon Ave. at Hwy 100. Funeral service 11am Friday, September 20 with visitation beginning at 10 am at St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, 3450 Irving Ave S., Mpls. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
