Olson, Byron K. age 85, of Mtka., died peacefully on Aug 1, 2019. Born in Duluth, Byron grew up near Lake Nokomis. He was an Eagle Scout who became an engineer. He did math for the Apollo launch and worked in defense. Byron married Dorothy Tufte in 1959 and they had many adventures, including building a log cabin. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Byron loved his wife, family, the woods and mountains, skiing, being in a boat, dogs, music, and taking long road trips. He was kind, inquisitive, and steadfast. Preceded in death by sons Christopher and Byron Jr. (who died at birth), parents Harry and Thea, and brother Eugene (Joyce). Survived by his wife, daughters Karen and Carolyn, grandson River, and sister Donna Holen (Doug). Memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on August 9 at the Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55408.
