Barthel, Anne Caroline (65), loving sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend, was called home on Feb. 14 following a battle with Metastatic Chondrosarcoma. A strong, independent woman, Anne's spirit was not defeated by her cancer. She brought joy to her many visitors and made jokes even during her final hours. She is likely already organizing the rooms of heaven. In life, Anne was selfless, always ready and willing to support her large community of family and friends however she could. In her rest, Anne is reunited with her parents, Mary & Jim, and brother, Les. Anne will be missed by so many, including sisters, Deidre Herkal (Mike), Susan Barthel, cousin, Martha Cloutier (John), god-daughters, Twyla Keeney (Kevin) and Emma Bernt, nieces, nephews, lifelong girlfriends, coworkers, and many others whose lives she touched. The family thanks North Hospice for their exceptional care. An open house in memory of Anne will be held at Dehn's Country Manor, 11281 Fernbrook Lane N. Maple Grove, Sat. 2/23 from 5:00-8:00pm.
