Quinlan (nee Schnelle), Katherine D. "Kathy" Monday, February 11, 2019 Katherine D. "Kathy" Quinlan (née Schnelle), passed away peacefully at age 85. Born July 23, 1933, in Olivia, MN. Kathy graduated as a diploma nurse from Anker School of Nursing in St. Paul, MN in 1954. In 1955, she joined the United States Navy as a nurse and was stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA. In 1956, she married Capt. Thomas H. Quinlan, USAF. Kathy always embraced their many moves as a great adventure. Kathy enjoyed being a homemaker and raising five children. She instilled in her children the importance of education. She fulfilled her dream of getting her B.A. in history in 1990. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing tennis and expressed her creativity through sewing, knitting, and quilting. She was an avid reader and enjoyed lively conversations on many subjects. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Thomas H. Quinlan. She is survived by five children, Peter (Lori) Quinlan, Katherine (Chris) Moore, Colleen (Michael) LeDuc, Mary (James) Buckley, and Michael (Natalia) Quinlan; her six grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Miser, Michael (Sarah) Quinlan, Joseph Quinlan, Nelson LeDuc, Thomas Quinlan and Nathan Moore; and three great- granddaughters, Olivia Miser, Lillian Miser, and Ava Miser. Visitation will be held at Washburn-McReavy Nokomis Park Chapel, 1838 E. Minnehaha Pkwy, Minneapolis MN 55407 on Sunday, February 24, 2019, 2-5pm. Funeral Service will be held at WashburnMcReavy Nokomis Park Chapel on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:30 am. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue S., Minneapolis, MN 55450 at 12:30 pm.There will be a luncheon following the burial.
