Jolliffe, Marilyn Age 91, of Bloomington, MN, passed away peacefully on Mother's Day, May 13, 2018 after a short illness. Preceded in death by husband Richard. Survived by her children; Linda Schlampp, Andrea Miller (Steve), David Jolliffe (Mary Ellen Lord), Leesa Harvey (Barry), grandchildren; Candice Norman, Leah Dirkes (Craig), Jordan Soffa (Mayumi), Alison Soffa, Jacob Harvey, Alan Harvey and Nicole Harvey, great-grandchildren; Mira, Tyler, Teddy, Sophia, Mason. Marilyn was born in Rockford, IL & moved to Minnesota as a young girl with her parents Marion and Ted Lindstrom where she attended West High School & then the University of Minnesota. She married Richard Jolliffe in 1962, each brought two children to their marriage. She and Dick were truly soulmates, cherishing every moment & adored each other until his death in 2005. A loving mother, Marilyn brought warmth & stability to her home. She volunteered for the Junior League & belonged to the Womens Club and was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church serving on the music & worship committee. A passion for the arts, she lived an exciting life as a public figure and actor. In 1946, she reigned as Aquatennial Queen, kindling a love for the entertainment business, she performed at the Old Log Theatre in the 50's & 60's; hosted a radio & television show on WTCN; worked a stint as a news reporter; performed in numerous national commercials & finally worked as a booth announcer for KABC in Los Angeles. In her retirement her love of theatre led her to start a successful drama group at Friendship Village. She will be deeply missed by her family & all who knew her.
