Thielen, Maureen E. age 60 of Lakeville, MN, passed away May 8, 2018 from an aggressive kidney cancer. Maureen was the wife of beloved husband, Chuck Halvorson for 27 years. Raising their children, Alexandra, Martin and Grant was the joy of her life! Maureen grew up in Brooklyn Center and attended the U of M (Twin Cities), where she swam 4 years and was voted team captain her senior year. She taught P.E. in Japan for two years and at Apple Valley M.S. for 22 years. Maureen completed 34 marathons, including Boston, and three Hawaiian Ironman Triathlons. She traveled Europe, Asia, Australia/New Zealand extensively. Besides teaching 6,000 P.E. students, Maureen enjoyed gardening, running, biking, scrapbooking and entertaining at their home on Lake Marion. Preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Lois Thielen, and sister, Karen Markwardt. Maureen is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Alexandra, Martin and Grant; siblings, Robert Thielen, Jenny (Gary) Axberg, and Sandi (Keith) Maile; brother-in-law, Keith (Nancy) Markwardt; also by other relatives and friends. Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday, May 18, 2018 at Family of Christ Church, 10970 185th St. W., Lake- ville. Memorial visitation 5-8 PM Thursday at White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Tr., Lakeville (952-469-2723), and one hour prior to service at church. Interment: Lakewood Cemetery.
