Nichols, Andrea (McFadden) Age 86 of Minnetonka, passed away March 4, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born Olöf Andrea Jónsdóttir in Isafjordur, Iceland, she was enormously proud of her Viking heritage. She cherished trips to her home country to visit her many relatives and, in turn, loved hosting them in Minnesota. She was an enthusiastic member of the Icelandic Hekla Club of Minnesota. She relished teaching Icelandic to all who showed interest. Andrea was active in the RidgePointe Senior Living Community as a new resident greeter and annual ice cream social volunteer. She particularly enjoyed sharing her banana bread, renowned black bottom cookies and Icelandic delicacies with neighbors and staff members alike. Her smile, warmth, and generosity will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by parents Jon Jónsson and Fjola Erlensdóttir, husbands Joseph McFadden and Robert Nichols, and brother, Cully Jónsson. She was joined in death by her beloved sister, Gretta Jónsdóttir, on March 15, 2018. They are happily together smiling down on us all. She is survived by her son, Dennis McFadden (Barbara) and granddaughter, Devon; 7 stepchildren, 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. The family extends their heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at North Memorial Cancer Center and Hospice for their care and support. She celebrated her life with family and friends in October of 2017. She will be buried in Isafjordur, Iceland. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society. SKÁL, AMMA!
