Clark, Merrill Almon 87, of Wheaton Illinois passed away on February 10, 2018. Merrill was born on July 7, 1930 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from Wart-burg College in Waverly, Iowa and Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Merrill was an ordained pastor in both the American Lutheran Church and the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. He married Katherine (Katie) Mueller on August 14, 1953 and together they were missionaries in Papua New Guinea for 12 years. They had six children. Merrill was preceded in death by his first wife, Katie, parents Clayton and Violet (Geckler) Clark, brothers Robert (Bob), Clayton and his twin sister Maxine. He is survived by his former second wife Ardis (Schleining) Wennmacher, their son Andrew S. Clark, and friend Cary Gron, all of Illinois. Merrill is further survived by four daughters and two sons from his first marriage to Katie including Carla Jean Larson (Scott) of Lincoln, NE; Robyn Clark-Bridges (Dan) of Cedar Rapids, IA; Daniel Clark (Nannette) of Rockledge, FL; Wendy Clark (David Dorow) of Maple Lake, MN; David Clark (Shu-Ling Chen) of Menlo Park, CA; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Per Merrill's wishes, his cremains will be inurned next to his twin sister Maxine at Elmhurst Cemetery in St. Paul, MN. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
