Day, Margaret Ann (Peggy) age 78, died on February 19, 2018. She was born on February 23, 1939 in Faribault, MN to Milton and Vivian (Ellingson) Johnson. She grew up in rural Minnesota but became a world traveler after marrying her Navy man, Richard (Dick) Thayer Day, on June 18, 1961. Together they had two children. She was a loving, dedicated Navy wife and mother, taking care of her family through 23 moves. Out of all the places she lived, her favorite was Hawaii, with its flowers, beaches and lush fruit. There, she left a piece of her heart. She loved the Lord and she loved people. Her ministry was in the written word. She wrote thousands of letters to people she loved in her lifetime. Her smile lit up a room. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Dick; daughter, Karis; son, John (Annie); three grandchildren, Olivia, Joshua, and Micah; and her sister, Virginia (Jim). Memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church of Deephaven (18360 Minnetonka Blvd, Deephaven, MN) on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11 am. Visitation at 10 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
