McAlpine, Clifford J. Age 93, of Dayton. Passed away on Feb 19, 2018. Co-Owner of McAlpine's Well Drilling in Dayton, MN established in 1954, in his garage. After retiring, Clifford was the caretaker of St John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery for 18 years in addition to being an active member of the parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was one of the organizers of the Dayton Softball League, continuing to play up to the age of 55. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty and 8 siblings. Clifford is survived by his children, Michael (Cheryl), Linda (Gregg) Peterson, Tim (Lucy), Terry (Linda), Mary (Robert) Gmach, LuAnne (Gary) Dahlheimer, Bill (Debbie), and Kim (Mike) Cornelius; 28 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; other family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM Thurs, Feb 22, 2018 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, 18380 Columbus St, Dayton, with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Visitation also on Weds, Feb 21 from 4:30-7PM at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main St, Elk River.
