Korsrud, Walter Eugene of Davenport, IA, age 92, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport. A private family service for Walter will be at a later date at Ridgecrest Chapel, Davenport. Inurnment will also take place at a later date at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Walter Eugene Korsrud was born in Glenville, MN, on January 8, 1926, the son of Albert and Julia (Steen) Korsrud. He married Helen Anderson on September 4, 1948 in MN. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Burnsville, MN. He served in the U.S Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Davenport, daughter; Sandra (Louis) Behensky of Davenport, son; David Korsrud of Maquoketa; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchil dren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Jane Nelson. Memorials may be made to Luther College, Decorah, IA or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Burnsville, MN.
