Kmit, Dennis age 84, of Johanna Shores, Arden Hills, Minnesota, died surrounded by his loving family on Feb 11, 2018, of Alzheimer's. He was born in Davydy, Ukraine on July 10, 1933 to Ivan and Maria Kmit. Dennis emigrated to the U.S. in 1950 and became a proud naturalized citizen in 1954. He served in the Korean war from 1953-1955. Survived by wife of 59 years, Ann (Luciow), daughters Kathryn Kmit (John Kirwin), Natalie Kmit, and Maryanne Kmit (Kurt Mikkelsen). Preceded in death by son Steven. Also survived by grandchildren Abi and Alex Agoos, Sophia and Oscar Mikkelsen, and Amber Abubo, Hilary and Samson Kmit, and great-grandchildren Emmaline and Beatrix Abubo and Russel Kmit. Dennis worked at Waldorf Paper Co, becoming a union representative and finally a representative for the International Paperworkers Union. Dennis and Ann retired to Las Vegas, NV in 1997, enjoying 19 years of sunshine, and returned to MN in Feb 2016, to Waverly Gardens. Visitation on Feb 15 from 5-7pm at Washburn-McReavy, Hillside Chapel, 2610 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis. Memorial service on Feb 16 at 9:30 am at Waverly Gardens, Door A, 5919 Centerville Rd, North Oaks.
